Man, it just feels like the months are getting busier and busier as we get later into the year. For all you out there, I hope you are finding some time for yourselves in this chaos haha.
So let's get into the newsletter. This month, I decided to do something a little challenging. It is a bit more broad of a topic, which was harder to focus in on what I wanted to photograph. That is to photograph what is around me in my life. To capture what's happening in my life, whether that be the exciting events I went to this last month, or just a typical lunch on a Tuesday.
The first image above is a cool composition I always wanted to capture right outside the gym I go to. I finally mustered up the courage to look like a weirdo in a busy parking lot to get this shot. I am glad I did. It reminds me of Wes Anderson a bit with how he likes to use composition and colors.
The next few are just a few I took at my home. The first one is a photo I wanted to take for a blog I wrote about switching to Fujifilm (which you should read), and the latter is a dramatic shot of one of Aldo's toys. Little did it know, the monster was about to pounce on it right after I took this shot.
Next, I made some new friends. First was a guy I met at a photography meet. I am willing to take the responsibility of admitting that I do not remember his name, but I liked his sense of humor, and I am sure I will see him more at other meets.
Next was FredDe, or Freddy and De. This was completely happenstance as Becca and I had some brunch before church, and this awesome couple was there willing to chat up a storm. We loved it, and we loved them! They were super cool. I took their portrait, and that set the tone to have a great rest of the day.
Now comes the fair. Boy oh boy, I had fun here. I brought my camera and took some awesome photos. I wrote entire blog about the fair (which you should also read), and just overall had a great time with my partner and best friend.
Next is a facet of my life that is kind of new, disc golf. I got into it last summer, took a small break, but now I am back in it full swing. My buddies and I try to go out at least once a week. If I am being honest and vulnerable here, disc golf is kind of what kick started this whole health journey I am on, so I am grateful for it in that sense. Other than that, I will continue to have a great time shanking my drives and missing my putts. Here are some photos of Chaz just absolutely killing it and a new disc I bought. I believe he parked his drive on the first photo here, which is just bonkers.
Next up is some photos from a weekly lunch I have with my best friend Benji. We always get a sweet treat to celebrate the week. I am a tiramisu fiend, and All About Cha knows how to hook a person up ;)
Lastly is some photos I just took at the Plaza District Festival. It was a great time with live performances and mural paintings. I will link the blog for that here as well.
Thank you all for reading!
I know this month seemed a bit more relaxed, and I kind of liked it. I am going to continue this vibe in next month's theme, so be on the lookout. Until then, have fun with the chaos that is the last few months of the year. I will be here making photographs, sharing my journey, and hopefully you all can learn something, or simply enjoy it along the way!
